The public company Aeropuerto de Castellón (Aerocas) and CaixaBank, through DayOne, have signed an agreement to strengthen the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem linked to Castellón airport and foster the growth of startups and companies in the aerospace sector.

The agreement, presented by the third vice-president and Minister of Infrastructure, Vicente Martínez Mus, alongside the Commercial Director of Business for CaixaBank in Valencia and Castellón, Felipe Pulido, and the Director General of Aerocas, Raquel París, establishes a stable framework for collaboration. The objective is to promote the consolidation, visibility, and access to funding for companies linked to the European Space Agency's (ESA BIC Valencia Region) startup incubator, based at the airport.
Minister Martínez Mus highlighted that the agreement "represents a further step in strengthening the airport's business ecosystem by incorporating a benchmark partner." He added that this will allow innovative startups and companies to access specialized knowledge, tools, and potential funding sources to accelerate their growth, facilitating their development as an economic activity.
For her part, Aerocas Director General, Raquel París, emphasized the goal of making Castellón airport "a benchmark in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological development." CaixaBank's Commercial Director of Business, Felipe Pulido, assured that "from CaixaBank DayOne, we want to support innovative companies in all phases of their growth," offering not only specialized financing but also connections, knowledge, and development opportunities.
Through its specialized division DayOne, CaixaBank will provide beneficiary startups and companies with a specialized channel for communication and access to financial products and services tailored for innovative and technological companies, as well as entrepreneurship support programs and connections with investors. The agreement targets startups currently incubated at ESA BIC Valencia Region, those that have completed their incubation process, and other innovative companies linked to the airport's ecosystem.
Among the planned actions, DayOne will offer orientation and specialized financial advisory sessions, training workshops, networking and mentoring activities, as well as facilitating access to programs and awards like the EmprendeXXI Awards. Aerocas, in turn, will disseminate the opportunities arising from this agreement among companies in the airport ecosystem and collaborate in organizing events to foster innovation.
Castellón Airport hosts ESA-BIC Valencia Region, the first business incubator of the European Space Agency in the Valencian Community. The program currently has eight affiliated startups, and a third call for applications is underway to incorporate four more space-related business projects.
