Madrid Leads Job Creation in Spain with Over 148,000 New Positions

The Community of Madrid has spearheaded job creation in Spain over the past year, adding 148,072 new workers and achieving a growth of +3.9%.

The Madrid region leads in job generation, contributing 20% of the total state and creating an average of 406 positions daily. This +3.9% increase surpasses the national average by five tenths.
Official statistics from the central Government, recently published, indicate that in September, contributors to Social Security increased by 55,861 people in the Community of Madrid, representing 60.5% of the total for autonomous communities. The year-on-year growth in this period reaches +1.4%, one point above the national average, raising the number of affiliates to 3,927,854, the highest figure recorded for this month.
Regarding self-employed workers (autónomos), the Community of Madrid has seen an increase of 11,929 workers in the last year, a growth of +2.7%, surpassing the state percentage by six tenths. The total number of self-employed workers stands at 447,412, the best historical data for this month. Compared to the previous month, self-employed workers have increased by +0.8%, double the rate of the country as a whole.
This leadership in employment is in addition to the Community of Madrid's contribution to the national GDP, which reaches 20%, a milestone never before achieved by an autonomous community in Spain. Furthermore, the region has been confirmed as a preferred destination for foreign investment and is the only community without its own taxes.
