The region has experienced a +3.5% increase in Social Security affiliation, surpassing the national average of +2.9% by six tenths. On average, 362 daily contracts have been signed, contributing significantly to the jobs generated across the country.
The data, corresponding to July and released by the central government, also reflects a -0.8% (-2,245 people) drop in unemployment compared to the same period in 2025. The number of unemployed people in Madrid stands at 273,631, the lowest figure for this month since 2008 and the twenty-eighth consecutive month below 300,000 unemployed.
Furthermore, the number of self-employed workers in the region reaches 445,111, the second-highest figure on record. In the last year, 10,304 self-employed professionals have been added, representing a growth of +2.4%, seven tenths above the Spanish average (+1.7%).
Since July of last year, the decrease in unemployment has been observed in both sexes and across all sectors of activity, with notable drops in Construction (-10.1%) and Agriculture (-6.4%), followed by Industry (-1.6%) and Services (-0.2%).
