The Community of Madrid has launched the Sovereign AI Cloud, a pioneering digital infrastructure designed to strengthen security in regional information management and accelerate the creation of new public services.

This initiative, presented in Alcalá de Henares by the Minister of Digitalization, Miguel López Valverde, is being implemented in this location due to its high connectivity and strategic position. The Sovereign Cloud will enable the regional administration to process large volumes of data more rapidly, optimize technological resources, and reduce costs associated with external services.
The main objective is to increase the region's technological autonomy, integrating artificial intelligence into public services under strict guarantees of security, privacy, and efficiency. Collaboration with leading companies in advanced computing and secure storage ensures that public data is managed within Madrid's own infrastructure.
This project aligns with the Madrid Executive's digital transformation strategy, aiming to establish the region as a European leader in technological innovation. The goal is for technology to translate into more accessible and agile services, creating new opportunities for citizens, professionals, and businesses, and responsibly deploying AI's potential with a future-oriented vision.
