Data released by the National Statistics Institute for the second quarter confirms the creation of 62,100 new jobs in the region. This labor dynamism is supported by high contractual stability, with 88.5% of employees holding permanent contracts, 3.6 points above the average recorded in the rest of Spain.
Regarding unemployment, the number of jobless individuals fell by 8,800, reaching 297,900. This is the lowest figure for a second quarter since 2008, with a regional unemployment rate of 7.6%, significantly lower than the 9.9% national average.
The report also highlights positive trends in specific groups. Youth unemployment stands at 19.8%, while female unemployment has decreased to 8.6%. Additionally, the active population has grown by 53,300 people, consolidating the region as a key driver that contributes nearly one in five new active workers nationwide.
