The Community of Madrid has invested €15.2 million in the last two years in 132 Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technology projects to modernize the region's small and medium-sized enterprises.

The total investment of €15.2 million has been directed towards 132 projects, of which 85 are AI use cases, 20 are based on blockchain, and 27 focus on digital innovation for business growth. Additionally, the Consejería de Digitalización has allocated €7 million for technological training initiatives aimed at citizens, sports entities, and vulnerable groups, seeking to accelerate their adaptation to the digital economy.
These grants have covered up to 60% of the investment in technological projects for startups and established companies, promoting the adoption of innovative solutions that enhance productivity, optimize processes, automate tasks, and increase competitiveness.
A notable example is the project by the consultancy OpenSistemas, which has developed an AI solution to optimize industrial logistics management. This system, which analyzes real-time images, has successfully reduced human errors by 40% and generated annual operational savings of up to €700,000.
The additional €7 million fund has been distributed among digital training initiatives. 156 projects have been financed to modernize sports entities, and over 40,000 courses have been delivered through Madrid Aula Digital for athletes, coaches, and club managers. Furthermore, €5.1 million has been allocated to 58 third-sector entities for technological training programs targeting vulnerable groups, thereby improving their employment opportunities and social participation.
Through these actions, the Community of Madrid aims to position itself at the forefront of modernization, promoting the adoption of advanced technologies and equipping citizens and organizations with the necessary capabilities for an increasingly interconnected environment.
