The regional executive's objective is to facilitate the creation, maintenance, growth, and continuity of these companies, especially when no defined succession is planned.
This roadmap is integrated into the Family Business Support Law, approved this year, which extends inheritance and gift tax bonuses to 99% to favor ownership transfers. Alongside these tax advantages, the Law includes actions in training and employment; investment and access to financing; internationalization; innovation; and digitalization.
One of the strategy's main initiatives is the new Generational Succession Platform, aimed at preventing the disappearance of viable businesses with a history that lack a successor. This tool will connect them with profiles interested in taking over their management and will offer support throughout the transition, ensuring an orderly change with guarantees, preserving jobs and economic activity.
Furthermore, it will include the Kit IA Empresa Familiar Madrileña, offering direct aid of up to 10,000 euros to boost digital transformation and the adoption of Artificial Intelligence solutions. These funds will enable beneficiaries to automate administrative tasks, improve customer service, optimize internal processes, and increase sales, turning technology from a barrier into an opportunity for expansion.
Family businesses in the Community of Madrid account for over 20% of all family businesses in Spain, contributing more than half of Madrid's private employment (58.9%) and nearly half of the region's Gross Value Added (46.2%).
