The Community of Madrid is preparing for a 2026 summer campaign with a forecast of 102,740 contracts, representing a 10.3% increase compared to the previous year, according to Randstad data.

This growth, while positive, is slightly below the national average of 12.2%. The region is characterized by a more stable and deseasonalized labor market, with a constant flow of tourists throughout the year, unlike other areas with more pronounced peaks due to sun and beach tourism.

"While in regions such as the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Andalusia, or the Valencian Community, the summer campaign represents a massive 'peak' due to sun and beach tourism, Madrid is a much more stable and deseasonalized market, with a high volume of tourists throughout the year."

Nationally, the summer campaign is expected to generate 790,245 hires, a 12.2% increase from 2025. Andalusia will lead job creation with 142,480 contracts, followed by Catalonia with 121,325, and the Community of Madrid with the aforementioned 102,740. These three regions will account for almost half of the national hires.
In terms of percentage growth, the Community of Madrid is among the regions with a more moderate increase, surpassing only La Rioja and very close to the Valencian Community. The hospitality and catering sectors will be the main drivers of this campaign, concentrating most of the planned hires. Nationally, this sector will generate 389,330 contracts, almost half of the total, with a 24% growth.
Other relevant sectors include transport and logistics, with 219,720 contracts, and commerce, which will contribute 152,105 contracts. The leisure and entertainment sector will experience the largest relative increase, at 35.1%, driven by summer events and activities. The most in-demand profiles will be waiters, cooks, sales assistants, warehouse workers, delivery drivers, and receptionists, as well as entertainment staff, with immediate availability and basic digital skills being highly valued.
