French multinational Danone has announced an investment of nearly 40 million euros in its Tres Cantos plant, Madrid, to develop a science hub that will integrate research, technological innovation, and industrial excellence, as reported by President Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

During her visit to the factory, Díaz Ayuso emphasized that this significant investment reflects the strong performance of companies in the Community of Madrid, a region that, according to her, consistently supports business development. This project, along with international projection and the protection of livestock farmers, reinforces the idea that Madrid's economic model is effective.

"This means trusting in business initiative, in balanced taxation, in an Administration that does not supervise or direct, but rather bets on incentive, effort, and excellence, which always end up generating employment, prosperity, and opportunities."

The Tres Cantos plant plays a crucial role in the regional dairy sector, processing one in four liters of milk produced in the Community of Madrid. The president also highlighted the efforts of small producers from municipalities such as Soto de Navalafuente and Colmenar Viejo, who supply these facilities.
This new “unique operations center in the world” will not only boost innovation but also enable the relocation to Spain of productions currently carried out abroad. It is estimated that the expansion of this complex will contribute approximately 0.4% to the economic growth of the Community of Madrid starting in 2030.
These announcements come amidst a period of business growth in the region. The Community of Madrid led company creation in February, with 2,615 new commercial companies, a 31% increase compared to the previous year. The region accounts for 20.6% of all companies established in Spain during that period. So far this year, Madrid maintains its leadership with 5,098 new companies, 21% of the national total, with subscribed capital amounting to 230.3 million euros in the first two months of 2026, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
