The City Council of Collado Villalba is celebrating 'Internet Week' from May 17 to 24, an initiative by the Digitization Department to bring new technologies and Artificial Intelligence closer to residents of all ages.

The program, organized for Internet Day, includes free educational, training, and participatory activities aimed at all citizens. The goal is to promote safe and useful digital tool usage, as well as to understand the population's technological needs to continue improving municipal public services.
Among the planned activities is the exhibition ‘History and Evolution of Artificial Intelligence’, which can be visited from May 17 to 24 at the Peñalba Cultural Center. The exhibition will offer a journey through the main milestones of AI development, from its origins to current applications in daily life. The exhibition will later continue its tour through various municipal facilities.
From May 17 to 31, an open survey will be available to the public to gather opinions and suggestions for improvement related to the City Council's digital services. The initiative seeks to analyze residents' digital habits and technological needs to advance the modernization of local administration.
The program also includes the masterclass ‘Artificial Intelligence Without Fear’, which will be held on Thursday, May 21, at 5:00 PM, at the Peñalba Cultural Center. It is a practical and accessible session for all audiences to learn how to use Artificial Intelligence tools simply and safely. The activity will be led by journalist and new technologies specialist Juan Antonio Tirado.
Furthermore, the Department of Childhood and Youth, in collaboration with the Cibervoluntarios Foundation, will organize a free hacker challenge for young people aged 16 to 21 on Thursday, May 22, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The activity will take place at the Youth Center under the slogan ‘We must learn to think like a hacker… to protect the digital future’, aiming to promote cybersecurity, critical thinking, and responsible technology use among young people.
The Councilor for Digitization, Miguel Aisa, has highlighted that the department's objective is to turn digital tools into “an opportunity for all Villalberos” and to advance in incorporating technology at the service of people. All scheduled activities will be free and open to the public.
