The initiative, with a grant of 50,000 euros, focuses on applying digital twin technology to improve the consistency and reliability of complex flow cytometry data analysis, an essential tool in biomedical research and healthcare.
The NEWTON Biotwins project addresses the challenge of result reproducibility across different environments, despite the volume and complexity of data generated by flow cytometry. The creation of virtual representations of complex datasets aims to facilitate faster and more consistent interpretation of results, reducing the need for repeated experiments.
This approach could contribute to more sustainable research practices and facilitate access to advanced analytical methods, improving the quality, reliability, and accessibility of data for biomedical research and the development of clinical applications.
The 'la Caixa' Foundation has selected 30 projects out of a total of 449 submitted in the twelfth edition of the CaixaImpulse Call for Health Innovation 2026, promoted in collaboration with Criteria Bio Ventures. The program seeks to facilitate the transfer of scientific knowledge to society and promote health innovations, offering training and financial support of up to 700,000 euros.
Other calls from the 'la Caixa' Foundation in 2026 include the Health Research Call, which supports 32 projects with grants of up to one million euros, and the first Health Promotion Research Call, which has selected 18 projects with grants of up to 300,000 euros.
