The Alcoy City Council has implemented a new direct management model for cleaning its public buildings, through the municipal company EMSA, which began operations on April 1st and anticipates annual savings of 360,000 euros.

This initiative, which has allowed the Municipal Public Services Company (EMSA) to expand its workforce to 80 employees, includes the cleaning of all educational centers, sports facilities, and municipal administrative dependencies. A notable new addition is the incorporation of the Rodes Urban Technology Park into the service coverage.
The Alcoy City Council's decision to municipalize this service reflects a commitment to efficiency and responsibility in the use of public resources. With a budget allocation of 1.2 million euros, the direct management model not only reduces costs compared to external contracting but also allows for greater control over service quality and ensures its stability.
The council has emphasized that this measure ensures the maintenance of quality standards, while reinforcing the public nature of the service and its orientation towards the general interest of the citizenry.
