The Tomiño Council is holding a series of meetings with companies and self-employed professionals as part of the European project 'Smart Eurocity'. The aim is to gain firsthand knowledge of their activities, needs, and identify collaboration opportunities for the development of the Cross-Border Agro-Industrial Park.
These meetings aim to enhance communication between the Council and the productive sector, providing access to municipal resources that support economic activity and innovation. The 'Smart Eurocity' project has a total investment of over 520,000 euros, with approximately 391,000 from European FEDER funds (INTERREG VIA POCTEP), and will promote smart specialization in the agricultural and industrial sectors between Tomiño and Vila Nova de Cerveira.
The mayor, Sandra González, highlighted the importance of the Agro-Industrial Park as a strategic project for the municipality, emphasizing the need for companies to grow, attract investment, and create employment. "We have a productive sector with capacity, experience, and great potential, and from the Council, we are promoting the means and seeking the necessary support to accompany that growth," she stated.
González also stressed business collaboration as a fundamental part of this commitment: "The Agro-Industrial Park must also be built hand-in-hand with companies, relying on their knowledge and initiative." She added that direct dialogue will help identify obstacles and opportunities for joint progress, leveraging cooperation with Cerveira and European funds.
The Council encourages all companies and self-employed professionals in Tomiño who have not yet participated to get in touch to arrange a meeting. Interested parties can write to xoan.gomez@tomino.gal or call 608 27 16 94.
