The School of Computer Engineering at the Ourense campus hosts the DevFest 2026 next Saturday, November 7th, an event that will bring together nearly 200 people to discuss the latest in artificial intelligence and autonomous agents.

The School of Computer Engineering at the Ourense campus will be the meeting point for technology enthusiasts this Saturday, November 7th, with the celebration of DevFest 2026. The event is presented as “the great technology festival of Galicia” and is organized by the Google Developer Group (GDG) of Ourense with the support of the School of Computer Engineering of UVigo and sponsorship from various entities. The event is part of DevFest, a global network of technology conferences driven by the community.
In this edition, DevFest consolidates itself as “the reference meeting point for technology enthusiasts in the northwestern Iberian Peninsula.” The program, running from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM in the Politécnico building, will focus on artificial intelligence and autonomous agents, going “beyond traditional LLMs,” as well as web and mobile development, cloud computing, green tech, and emerging technologies such as quantum computing and bioinformatics.
The event will feature talks by national and international speakers, practical workshops in codelab format, and networking activities. Among the speakers are Susanna Wong (Google Developer Expert), Davide Passafaro (Google Developer Expert in Angular), Roushanak R (IBM), Alejandro de la Cruz López (Astrafy), and Eric Risco de la Torre (Andorra Telecom). The talks will cover topics ranging from software engineering with agents to executing artificial intelligence models in the browser. The event will also include demonstrations by start-ups such as Sizit, Trenio, and Docucraft, and will conclude with a panel discussion on the relevance of learning to program.
Manuel Alonso, head of GDG Ourense and professor at the School of Computer Engineering, states that DevFest aims to bring technological leaders to Ourense and showcase local talent. Tickets cost 5 euros and can be purchased on the initiative's website. GDG Ourense, a group of technology enthusiasts, organizes open talks and events throughout the year to connect professionals and enthusiasts in the sector.
