The Singular Research Center in Intelligent Technologies (CiTIUS) at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) has updated its mission, vision, and values to reinforce its commitment to reliable, responsible, and people-centered artificial intelligence, and has launched a new recruitment process for researchers.

CiTIUS at USC is committed to research excellence in intelligent technologies for the common good, explicitly incorporating the human dimension of artificial intelligence throughout its lifecycle. The new mission aims not only to develop smarter technologies but also to understand their impact on people, the economy, and society, while anticipating and controlling potential risks.
The center's renewed vision seeks to establish itself as an international benchmark for its research, its contribution to developing reliable and responsible technologies, and its capacity to guide their ethical, legal, social, economic, and cultural impacts.
Furthermore, CiTIUS has added three new values – excellence, collaboration, and responsibility – to its existing commitments, aiming to foster a scientific-technology culture that combines research ambition, cooperation, and social engagement.
In line with this new phase, the center, co-financed by the European Union through the Galicia Feder 2021-2027 Program, has opened a new recruitment process for researchers. The goal is to strengthen and expand its scientific community and incorporate complementary skills and perspectives, aligning with its new strategic direction.
Through these initiatives, CiTIUS reaffirms its commitment to AI that effectively contributes to societal progress, consistently placing people at the core of its objectives and outcomes.
