The event, open to researchers, companies, and professionals linked to innovation, presented the objectives and requirements of this initiative. The program seeks to connect validated biotechnological solutions with industry needs to facilitate their market entry through contact with leading companies in the sector.
The institutional opening was attended by Ángeles López Lozano, technical director of the UVigo's R&D Office; Noa Caramés, CINBIO manager; and Pablo Quinteiro Bernal, representing Bioga.
The first edition of BioTrack focuses on the challenge "Innovative solutions for a healthy and sustainable bioeconomy," seeking projects in areas such as biotechnology applied to sustainable production and food, new valorization pathways, and enabling technologies for biomedicine and drug development.
The application period is open until October 30. Up to eight projects will be selected to receive specialized mentoring, training, investor connections, and the opportunity to develop proof-of-concept studies with sector companies. Additionally, projects may be eligible for financial aid of up to 30,000 euros per project.
