Osakidetza has bolstered its leadership structure with the appointment of Matxalen Ezkurra as the new Subdirector of Strategy, Transformation, and Communication. Ezkurra will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, objective monitoring, and accelerating the digital transformation of the public health service.
This appointment is part of a new phase driven by the Director General, Lore Bilbao, who is assembling a team focused on new management profiles, organizational innovation, and implementing the guidelines set forth in the Basque Health Pact.
Key responsibilities for the new subdirector will include developing and updating Osakidetza's strategic plan, aligned with the priorities of the Basque Government's Department of Health, as well as monitoring key performance indicators and coordinating program contracts with the Basque healthcare system.
The new position is established with a clear focus on organization and oversight. Its objective is to ensure coherence in Osakidetza's overall planning, guarantee alignment of goals across different service organizations, and facilitate a shared understanding of progress towards set targets.
Ezkurra brings a solid background in economic-budgetary management, auditing, and team organization. She has held responsibilities within the Basque Government's Department of Health and the University of the Basque Country/EHU, as well as leadership roles in auditing and in accounting and financial control.
