The Euskadi Technology Park is celebrating its 40th anniversary and has announced a major expansion of the Zamudio/Derio Campus, which will nearly double its size.

The Basque Government announced that the Zamudio/Derio Campus will incorporate 1.2 million square meters, nearly doubling its current size. The campus currently boasts a 97% occupancy rate, hosting 265 companies.
Lehendakari Imanol Pradales visited the future expansion lands in Mantuliz (Derio) today, emphasizing the need to look ahead, respond to uncertainty with action, and make room for the dynamism of the business and technological sector undergoing transformation.

"Just as 40 years ago, we must lift our gaze, respond to uncertainty with action, and double down. We must make room for the future. Also for the dynamism of our business and technological fabric, focused on its transformation."

Pradales highlighted that the Technology Park must grow to continue helping Euskadi grow, connect with other global entrepreneurship hubs, and offer opportunities to its talent pool.
According to 2025 activity data, the Zamudio/Derio Campus hosts 265 companies, employs over 12,000 people, and has a 97% occupancy rate. This expansion is necessary to accommodate business growth and space demand.
The addition of 1.2 million square meters in Mantuliz will nearly double the current space of the Zamudio/Derio Campus, which already has 1.1 million in Zamudio and 730,000 in Derio. The campus focuses on key sectors such as Advanced Manufacturing, Energy, Aerospace, Biosanitary, and Digital Solutions.
The combined Basque Technology Park Campuses in Bizkaia (Zamudio/Derio, Abanto, Leioa, and Bilbao) host 297 companies, employ around 13,000 people, and generated nearly 5.9 billion euros in revenue in 2025.
This expansion, part of the "Euskadi 2030 Industry Plan," anticipates the first companies settling in from 2030 onwards.
In parallel, the Euskadi Technology Park is working on the growth of its other campuses, including Campus Bilbao (Zorrotzaurre's North Point), Campus Donostia (expansion to Illunbe), and the Vitoria-Gasteiz Campus (with an additional 900,000 square meters).
Currently, the Euskadi Technology Park hosts 692 companies, employs over 24,000 people (7,700 in R&D), and generated 9.257 billion euros in revenue in 2025, a 12.3% increase from the previous year.
