The Basque Government has awarded 1.2 million euros to Maderas Gámiz for the modernization of its saw mill facility located in Santa Cruz de Campezo, within the Montaña Alavesa region. This grant, provided through the Lehiatu program, represents 40% of a total investment of 3.1 million euros aimed at renovating the plant.
Amaia Barredo, Minister of Food, Rural Development, Agriculture, and Fisheries, visited the company's facilities. The investment will facilitate the replacement of outdated machinery with more technologically advanced equipment, enhancing production capacity, optimizing workflow, and improving overall efficiency.
The modernization is expected to achieve up to a 20% energy saving. Maderas Gámiz employs 86 people, including 26 women, and its primary wood processing activity is strategically important for the economic development of the territory.
