The first meeting between Tubos Reunidos' company committee and the insolvency administrator in Amurrio has resulted in the withdrawal of the ERE, averting the closure of the steelworks and outsourcing of logistics.

The initial meeting between the company committee of Tubos Reunidos and the insolvency administrator, held today in Amurrio (Álava), has led to the announcement that the Employment Regulation File (ERE) and its associated measures, such as the closure of the steelworks and the outsourcing of logistics, will be withdrawn. Given the complexity of the situation, the company's administrator has reassured workers that payroll payments will be covered until after the summer.
According to union sources, the insolvency administrator, from the consultancy firm PKF Attest, has expressed a commitment to transparent and fluid communication throughout the process and aims to keep the company intact rather than selling it off in parts. To foster the continuity of operations and the viability of the industrial project, a new phase focused on attracting investors interested in Tubos Reunidos' future is now commencing.
Basque institutions have indicated that investor interest in the firm has been present, but they have also stressed that no investor will enter Tubos Reunidos without a reduction of its 263 million euro debt, half of which is owed to SEPI. The insolvency procedure regulations first require an attempt to sell the group as a whole; if unsuccessful, a liquidation phase will begin, selling assets in lots or separate units.
Another meeting is scheduled for this afternoon with the committee of the Tubos factory in Trápaga (Bizkaia).
