The Mendibil Shopping Center in Irun is set to welcome Pepco and Mango stores, which will occupy the units vacated by Bershka and Leire Sport.

The Mendibil Shopping Center in Irun is undergoing significant retail changes. Following the closure of Bershka nearly a year ago and the recent departure of local institution Leire Sport in July, two large retail spaces have become vacant, but this situation is temporary.
Since Bershka ceased operations, an agreement was already in place between the property owner and Mango for the Spanish fashion franchise to establish a presence. The Barcelona-based brand aims to maintain the success of its store at the Txingudi Shopping Center in Irun. Mango is pursuing an expansion strategy, planning over 500 new stores globally between 2024 and 2026. In Spain, this growth is evident with new openings like Mango Teen in Donostia and an increasing focus on Mango Home.
Meanwhile, Polish giant Pepco will take over the premises vacated by Leire Sport, offering fashion and home decor at low prices. The pace for this opening appears faster, although no specific date has been announced yet.
Pepco, with a history of just thirty years, has seen intensive expansion in Spain post-pandemic, opening over 260 stores and planning to exceed 275 establishments. Across 19 European countries, Pepco operates more than 4,000 stores.
Pepco's product range includes clothing and footwear for children, teens, women, and men, as well as home goods (decor, kitchenware, textiles) and seasonal items and toys.
Both Mango and Pepco are currently in the process of assembling the staffing teams that will manage the day-to-day operations of their new stores in Mendibil.
