The initiative aims to shift young people from being technology consumers to creators, enhancing their digital skills. These free camps, with limited spots, will take place at the BEDC facilities in Plaza Euskadi over three weeks.
The goal is to spark curiosity in STEM education and showcase its potential for solving current problems. "We want them to lose the fear of creating. When they move from using technology to building something with it, their perception changes completely," states Nerea Enbeita, director of Euskaltel Fundazioa.
The program includes workshops such as 'Radio, Podcasting, and Video with AI' (June 29 - July 3), 'Maker Camp: 3D Design and Printing, AI, and Virtual Reality' (July 6 - 10), and 'Kids Entrepreneur: Entrepreneurship with AI and 3D Design' (July 13 - 17), aimed at participants aged 12 to 16.
Additionally, a course will teach attendees to build their first functional video game using Unity (July 20 - 22). Participants will leave with completed projects and a new perspective on technology.
These camps are among the first initiatives hosted by the Bizkaia Euskaltel Digital Center, designed as an intergenerational meeting point to improve digital competencies and reduce the digital divide.
