The real estate market in Tarragona continues its upward trend in 2026, with an average price of 2,218 €/m² for purchase and 12 €/m² for rent, according to Fotocasa's Real Estate Index. This situation leads many people to consider options in neighboring municipalities to find more accessible housing without sacrificing services or proximity to the city.
Among the most economical locations, Valls stands out with an average price of 1,206 €/m², allowing the purchase of an 80 m² home for approximately 96,480 euros, about 45% below the provincial average. The capital of Alt Camp, with over 25,000 inhabitants, offers a wide range of services, including a hospital, educational centers, and shops, in addition to a robust local economy that reduces dependence on Tarragona.
Constantí, just 10 minutes from the capital, also emerges as an affordable option, with an average price of 1,237 €/m² (approximately 98,960 euros for a typical home), 44% cheaper than the average. Its residential character, proximity to industrial areas, and good connections make it a practical alternative for daily life.
In an intermediate position is El Vendrell, with a price of 2,273 €/m², very similar to the provincial average. This municipality, with over 38,000 inhabitants, is known for its family-friendly profile, its regional hospital, educational offerings, and excellent rail connection from Sant Vicenç de Calders, providing a balance between price and services.
Conversely, options more linked to a coastal lifestyle present higher prices. Torredembarra, at 2,776 €/m² (around 222,080 euros for a typical home), attracts with its location on the Costa Daurada, featuring a beach, marina, natural spaces like Els Muntanyans, and a wide range of leisure and dining options.
Even more exclusive is Altafulla, with an average price of 2,818 €/m² (approximately 225,440 euros per home). This municipality combines sea, heritage, and tranquility, with a protected historic center —the Vila Closa— and a privileged natural environment, factors that explain its high value in the Tarragona area.
Fotocasa's analysis concludes that the final decision depends primarily on budget and lifestyle: Valls and Constantí are ideal for saving, El Vendrell offers balance, while Altafulla and Torredembarra represent premium options linked to the sea and a quality environment.
