The president of Paradores, Raquel Sánchez, confirmed in Tortosa that the historic hotel will close in January 2027 to undergo a comprehensive 18-month renovation process.

The investment for the Tortosa Parador has been increased to 15.7 million euros. This budget hike covers an expanded project scope, including the modernization of kitchens, service areas, and the installation of solar panels to improve energy efficiency across the historic building.
