Seven awards for Ribera d'Ebre wines at DO Tarragona

Ribera d’Ebre has earned seven accolades at the 32nd edition of the DO Tarragona Wine Competition, reaffirming its winemaking excellence.

The Ribera d’Ebre region has once again demonstrated its potential and the quality of its winemaking projects at the 32nd edition of the DO Tarragona Wine Competition. Wineries from the area achieved significant prominence, collecting a total of seven awards. These accolades, distributed across ten categories, solidify Ribera d’Ebre as a key driver of quality within this designation of origin.
The award ceremony took place at the Teatret del Serrallo in Tarragona, marking the start of a weekend dedicated to promoting the sector, coinciding with the DO Tarragona Wine Fair held at Plaça Corsini. During the gala, the DO's president, Maria Rosa Blanch, emphasized that behind every awarded bottle lies "effort, perseverance, and love for this land".
The president of the Comarcal Council of Ribera d’Ebre, Francesc Barbero, expressed his pride in the region's outstanding performance. "These seven awards clearly reflect the talent, consistency, and significant progress our producers are making," he stated. He added, "Wines from Ribera d’Ebre possess a unique personality and are capable of competing at the highest level".
The awards for the region's wineries were distributed as follows: Vins i Olis Suñer (Ginestar) won first prize in the Dry White Wine category with its Macabeu de Ginestar 2025, along with two second prizes. Molí de Rué (Vinebre) secured first prize in the Rosé Wine category for its Mims Rosat 2025, plus two second prizes. Lastly, Grup Fruiter from Benissanet received the second prize ex aequo in the Aged White Wine category for its Llims Blanc.
