The Girona Provincial Council has launched its call for grants for economic promotion and development projects, aimed at municipalities and entities in the Girona regions. The supramunicipal body will allocate a total of over 650,000 euros across nine subsidy lines, with the goal of boosting economic activity and strengthening the region's productive sector.
Among the selected projects is Generació Empresa (Generation Enterprise), driven by the Palafrugell City Council. This initiative aims to raise awareness of generational succession in family businesses and highlight successful business experiences within the municipality. Meanwhile, Origen Forallac (Origin Forallac), a project from Forallac, has received support to enhance local productive talent through professionalization and promotion activities.
The Provincial Council views these projects as examples of innovation and local development with the potential to create new economic opportunities. These grants are part of a broader strategy to stimulate the economy of the Girona regions. The first vice-president of the Girona Provincial Council, Pau Presas, emphasized that the objective is to provide the territory with resources to foster the creation and maintenance of economic activity.
This year's call includes two new subsidy lines: one focused on projects related to digital technologies and the promotion of the technology sector, and another to support the organization of events linked to economic promotion. Furthermore, specific aid for smaller municipalities is maintained, including lines for local economic promotion and the installation of smart parcel collection systems.
