The Generalitat de Catalunya has approved the construction of a 3.168 MW photovoltaic plant in Montbrió del Camp, which will include 5,220 solar panels and an underground evacuation line.

The project, promoted by a company with its registered office in Tajonar (Navarra), has received approval from the regional administration. This decision will allow the installation of significant energy infrastructure in the Baix Camp region.
Although the Montbrió del Camp City Council has not submitted formal allegations, the Baix Camp Regional Council has expressed its concern. According to the council's report, the location is considered "not optimal" due to the "agroecological values" of the area, suggesting a possible impact on agricultural land.

Similarly, the agricultural organization Unió de Pagesos has openly opposed the initiative, requesting the project's cancellation. The commissioning of this installation has a planned period of two years from its authorization.
