The lack of sufficient supply has become an obstacle to the expansion of local businesses. In Sant Quintí de Mediona, one of the most affected areas, a company has had to halt an expansion project that included the creation of three new production lines due to current energy restrictions.
The proposed solution involves installing a new power line connecting the Capellades substation to the Sant Quintí de Mediona industrial estate. Although the cost of the work is estimated at 7 million euros, the conflict is complicated by the fact that the investment, which would have to be covered by the company, would also benefit third parties, a circumstance that discourages the project's execution.
Given this situation, municipal representatives have requested a meeting with the Department of Business and Labour of the Generalitat de Catalunya, scheduled for September. The goal is to find a solution to a problem that, according to the local councils, has been dragging on since the previous term and requires a firm institutional response.
