Registrations of industrial vehicles in Catalonia closed July with a near double-digit growth in the first seven months of the year compared to 2025. According to data from the Catalan association of automotive distribution (Fecavem), since January, over 205 last-mile vans and nearly 300 medium rigid trucks have been registered, showing growth of between 7% and 9%, respectively.
In parallel, Sabadell dealerships registered 416 passenger cars in July, a 2.80% decrease from the previous year. In the cumulative total for 2026, the registration figure reaches 2,532 units, 5.1% lower than in 2025.
Despite this slight decrease, registrations in Sabadell during the first seven months of the year confirm the trend: alternative powertrains to combustion engines are the preferred choice, surpassing gasoline and diesel. The diesel option has lost over 35% of its share, while plug-in hybrids lead with over 700 passenger cars registered.
Adding dealerships from Terrassa and Sant Cugat, 100% electric vehicles grew by over 30%, reaching 1,568 registered passenger cars, while gasoline vehicles decreased by 20% from January to July.
To encourage vehicle fleet renewal, the Spanish government has opened the call for the Auto+ plan, with 350 million euros for the purchase of electric vehicles. Maximum subsidies are 1,100 euros for electric motorcycles, 1,500 for quadricycles, 4,500 for passenger cars, and 5,000 for vans.
The Spanish executive plans to launch a new line of the Auto+ program for the self-employed and companies after the summer, with 400 million euros. Subsidies could reach up to 6,000 euros for passenger cars and 7,500 for vans.
