These funds come from the transfer foreseen in the agreement of the Mixed Commission for Economic and Fiscal Affairs (CMAEF) of July 2024 between the General Administration of the State and the Generalitat.
The investment will be directed towards actions for the financing of research in universities, CERCA centers, and the country's large singular scientific-technical infrastructures (ICTS). New talent development programs will also be deployed to promote research, innovation, and transfer throughout the territory.
The approved investment will allow for the continuation of singular projects from 2025. These include funding for the consortium Barcelona Supercomputing Center - National Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS); the Consortium for the Construction, Equipment, and Exploitation of the Synchrotron Light Laboratory (CELLS) of the ALBA II program; the establishment of the InnoFAB Foundation for the acquisition of land for a strategic infrastructure; the construction of a new telescope at the Montsec Observatory, or the creation of the new Cereal Genomics Editing Center of Lleida.
