Four professionals have put themselves forward to succeed Matilde Villarroya as head of Gesat, the municipal company managing the Hospital de la Santa Creu and the Clínica Terres de l'Ebre in Tortosa.

The resignation of the previous general manager, Matilde Villarroya, coincides with a crucial moment for the two healthcare centers, as they are undergoing integration into CatSalut. This integration stems from an agreement to support the Generalitat's budget, brokered between ERC and the PSC.
The list of provisional candidates, first reported by Tortosa Nótícies and published on the Tortosa City Council website, includes Adrian Serret Roig, Francisco Javier Guardia Segarra, Daniel Polo Navarro, and Òscar Subirats Torrebadell. The deadline for submitting applications closed last Friday.
Two of the candidates have significant professional ties to the capital of Montsià. Adrian Serret Roig served as director of services for the Hospital Comarcal d'Amposta until March 31st and is a member of the Fundació Privada de Serveis Socials del Montsià. Meanwhile, Francisco Javier Guardia Segarra is the former director of the Equip d’Atenció Psicopedagògica in Amposta.
One of the most notable candidacies is that of Òscar Subirats Torrebadell, currently an ERC councilor in the Reus City Council and responsible for the areas of Business, Training, and Employment. During the previous term, Subirats, a historian by profession, headed the Health department in Reus, serving as president of Sagessa, the municipal company responsible for managing the Hospital de la Santa Creu in that city.
