The Rubí City Council, through Rubí Empresa, is offering free online training on November 20th to teach companies, entrepreneurs, and self-employed individuals how to understand and manage their carbon footprint.

The session, taking place from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, aims to provide a technical and practical foundation for understanding the carbon footprint as a tool for quantifying and managing greenhouse gas emissions. Key concepts, calculation methodologies, necessary data sources, and main emission hotspots will be covered.
Different types of carbon footprints (organizational, product, service, event) will be discussed, and scopes 1, 2, and 3, referring to direct and indirect emissions, will be explained. Reference frameworks such as the GHG Protocol and the ISO 14064-1 standard will also be presented.
The training will also emphasize defining reduction objectives and measures related to energy, mobility, logistics, purchasing, and waste, as well as the importance of communicating results and their link to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies.
It will include a practical part with an applied dynamic to identify the starting point of participating companies in calculating their carbon footprint, assessed through guided questions and live voting.
The session, led by Gemma Soler, Project Director of Sustainability at the Institut Cerdà, is valued at €420.91 but is 100% subsidized and requires prior registration. Places are limited.
