Exports from Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre fall 12.6% in February

The region records the largest reduction in foreign sales in Catalonia, with a significant decline in capital goods and chemical products.

Exports from companies in Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre experienced a 12.6% reduction during the past month of February, the most pronounced drop in all of Catalonia.

This decrease, which exceeds the 3.5% decline recorded across Catalonia, places the region's foreign sales at 859.3 million euros. The data comes from the Monthly Foreign Trade Report, published by the Ministry of Economy.
Imports also showed a downward trend, with an 8.3% reduction, reaching a value of 1,257.9 million euros. The product category that suffered the most notable percentage decline in exports was capital goods, with a 13.7% drop, to 147.6 million euros.
Chemical products, a key sector for the region, also registered a decrease in their foreign sales, specifically 5.9%, standing at 335.3 million euros.
Regarding purchases, imports of chemical products decreased by 15.5%, with a value of 193.7 million euros. Purchases of capital goods fell by 3.7%, to 187.3 million.
