In May, unemployment in Sabadell fell by 203 people compared to April, currently standing at 10,323 individuals registered as job seekers with the Servei d’Ocupació de Catalunya. This figure is 189 people fewer than in May of last year, marking the lowest records for this month since 2009.
At the regional level, in Vallès Occidental, unemployment also decreased, with a reduction of 754 people compared to April, bringing the total number of unemployed individuals to 39,876. However, compared to a year ago, there are 1,242 more unemployed people in the region.
This downward trend is confirmed at both the Catalan and national levels. Catalonia recorded its May with the fewest unemployed since 2008, with 305,247 people on the employment services lists. In Spain, unemployment dropped below 2.3 million, with a reduction of 36,323 people (-1.54%) compared to April, a variation higher than Catalonia's. In year-on-year terms, unemployment in Spain has fallen by 5.47%, with 134,162 fewer unemployed individuals. Catalonia was the second autonomous community that most reduced unemployment in absolute numbers compared to April.
