The ACCIÓ agency, part of the Department of Business and Labour, will manage this 17.5 million euro increase, adding to the 35 million announced in April. The announcement was made by the Secretary of Business and Innovation and CEO of ACCIÓ, Jaume Baró, during the governing body meeting of the Fund in Móra la Nova.
These funds are designated to promote socio-economic development and energy transition in the regions of Ribera d'Ebre and Baix Camp. The objective is to subsidize industrial, innovation, and growth projects that contribute to the revitalization of areas impacted by the nuclear power plant closures.
The aid covers various project types, including business investments in fixed assets, job creation (minimum 3 new positions), growth and strategic change projects, cooperative initiatives, high value-added entrepreneurship, and technological innovation for the digital and green transformation of companies.
The Nuclear Transition Fund, financed by Catalonia's own environmental tax, aims to support de-nuclearized zones in their just energy transition and socio-economic development.
