The Board of Directors of the Institut Català del Sòl (Incasòl) has ratified the agreement to acquire 20 MW from the company Cetenis SL, based in Tortosa. This operation will advance the deployment of the artificial intelligence gigafactory planned in the economic activity sector El Molló, located between the municipalities of Móra la Nova and Tivissa, in the Ribera d’Ebre region.
The objective of this acquisition is to ensure the necessary energy availability for the project's initial phase. According to Incasòl's technical studies, the initial infrastructure requires 54 MW, while the sector currently only has 34 MW. The additional 20 MW cover this need and strengthen the project's viability.
Cetenis SL, the selling company of these 20 MW, specializes in the management, design, installation, maintenance, and operation of data centers, technological infrastructures, software, and artificial intelligence. It was established in the year 2025.
The AI gigafactory, with its legal headquarters in Móra la Nova, is led by a public-private company heading the Iberian candidacy to host one of the five gigafactories planned by the European Union. The project involves companies such as Telefónica, ACS, and Banco Santander, with a potential investment of up to 5 billion euros.
This initiative is part of Catalonia's strategy to position itself in artificial intelligence and advanced digital infrastructures. The project was recognized as strategically important for the region through Agreement GOV/141/2026.
Incasòl highlights that this action complements the efforts to establish El Molló as a preferred location for this infrastructure, which is expected to become a driver of economic development, innovation, and skilled employment in the Terres de l’Ebre region.
With this ratification, the Government enhances the necessary conditions for the implementation of a key project for Catalonia's digital transition and competitiveness.
