The selection, now in its second edition, has narrowed the number of recognized individuals from 100 to 50, aiming to give visibility to new voices and combine emerging profiles with previously recognized figures. The expert committee, led by Vera Bercovitz, Forbes Women's content director, and overseen by publication president and editor Andrés Rodríguez, has compiled a ranking spanning sectors such as business, politics, culture, science, and society.
For the Pallars region, this year's list again includes Blanca Sorigué, originally from La Pobla de Segur, who was recognized last year as director of the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB). Joining for the first time is Neus Tomàs, from Tavascan, currently deputy director of the digital newspaper elDiario.es. This year's list does not include Roser Roca from Tremp.
Neus Tomàs, a Journalism graduate from UAB, has specialized in political and cultural reporting throughout her career. She began at Cadena SER, directed the Spokesperson's Office of the Generalitat Government, and later made history as the first female deputy director at El Periódico de Catalunya. She currently holds the same senior position at elDiario.es, where she also serves on the board of directors, and contributes as an analyst in various media outlets.
Meanwhile, Blanca Sorigué has led the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium since 2018, being the first woman to hold this top position. Under her leadership, pioneering projects such as the DFactory Barcelona technology hub and the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) have been launched. Her international profile was further enhanced in 2023 with her appointment as vice-president of the World Free Zones Organization. She also emphasizes her commitment to gender equality in a traditionally male-dominated sector, having promoted the first Council of Women in the industrial environment and the creation of the Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW) forum.
