The position is part of the brAIN research group, which works at the intersection of artificial intelligence and computational neuroscience. The main goal of the project is to investigate the neural mechanisms that promote curiosity, learning, and adaptation in intelligent systems.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and evaluating spiking neural network models, applying biologically plausible learning rules. The research will focus particularly on how these networks can implement predictive coding processes to process sensory sequences, including auditory stimuli.
The contract offered is part-time, with a 20-hour weekly commitment and a planned duration of six months. Candidates must hold a degree in computer science and have previous experience in machine learning and Python programming.
The deadline for submitting applications is September 30, 2026. The selection process follows the principles of transparency and merit that distinguish the CVC, an entity recognized with the research excellence seal by the European Commission.
