The Besalú City Council has organized a successful event at Hotel Casa Marcial to foster sustainability among local businesses, with 28 representatives from 18 shops and companies participating.

The initiative, named "More Sustainable Besalú: Businesses and Shops with Purpose," gathered 28 attendees representing 18 businesses and shops interested in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their activities.
The Mayor of Besalú, Lluís Guinó, opened the event, highlighting the municipality's previous SDG-related actions and emphasizing the importance of private sector collaboration to achieve broader global milestones.
The aim is to recognize businesses and shops actively working towards the successful implementation of the SDGs. The City Council, which has been promoting SDG-linked initiatives for over three years, now deems it essential to involve local entrepreneurs.
During the event, Mercè Casals from Vector 5 presented a practical guide for applying the SDGs, while technician Josep Maria Canyelles encouraged attendees with insightful examples. Xavier Sala, manager of Hotel Casa Marcial, shared his experience as a business committed to SDG values.
The program will continue until October with feedback and advice from Vector 5 and the Economic Promotion area to solidify the commitment of the participating businesses.
