In August 2026, the average number of Social Security affiliations in the Canary Islands reached 963,791 individuals, representing an increase of 2,153 contributors compared to the previous month. When compared to the same month last year, average affiliations grew by 28,908, showing a 3.1% annual growth.
Average affiliation figures saw an increase for both men and women. By economic sectors, the general regime observed growth in most areas, with the exception of agriculture. Construction recorded a 1.3% rise.
Affiliations increased in sectors such as hospitality (approximately 1,883 more), commerce (588 more), and health and social services activities (1,021 more). However, the education sector experienced a loss of 1,911 affiliations.
At the end of August, the number of active affiliations stood at 953,268, a decrease of 3,302 compared to the end of July. Over the past year, there has been a 2% growth in Social Security affiliations at the end of the month.
