Imports in the Canary Islands between January and July 2026 have seen a provisional decrease of 16.1%, standing at 11,220.71 million euros.

Import values in the Canary Islands between January and July 2026 provisionally amounted to a total of 11,220.714 million euros, representing a 16.1% decrease compared to the same period last year.
On the other hand, and also provisionally, total exports reached 2,442.111 million euros, with a variation rate of -5.6% compared to 2025. The trade deficit amounts to 8,778.603 million euros, and the coverage rate, calculated as the ratio of total exports to imports, stands at 21.8%.
Regarding the composition of imports in July 2026, 29.2% were machinery and transport equipment. Products related to food (21.6%) and miscellaneous manufactured articles (16.3%) also stand out. Geographically, 74.6% of imports came from the rest of Spain, followed by the EU-27_2020 (13.9%). Europe as a whole accounted for 89.3%, while America represented 4.9%.
In terms of exports, 28.3% corresponded to petroleum and its derivatives. Food-related products and machinery and transport equipment each accounted for 10.5%. The main destinations were the rest of Spain (25.7%) and the EU-27_2020 (29.8%). Europe as a whole received 64.0% of Canary exports, and Africa 4.0%.
