The report, with data closed as of July, shows an increase of 60 companies compared to the end of the second half of the previous year, surpassing the 5,125 active companies registered in mid-summer 2025.
Arrecife consolidates itself as the main hub of economic activity, hosting 1,972 companies at the beginning of August, representing more than a third of the total for the island. The capital is expected to reach 2,000 companies this year.
It is followed by Tías, with a significant weight of tourism-related entities, totaling 1,137 companies. At a distance are Teguise (785) and Yaiza (712), where tourism also plays a key economic role.
San Bartolomé ranks fifth with 504 companies, showing a level of stagnation compared to the main municipalities. Meanwhile, Tinajo registers 146 entities and Haría closes the list with 107 companies, both with little variation.
By sector, services leads with 4,529 references, followed by construction (481), industry (176), and agriculture (109).
This business boom is also reflected in Social Security, which began August with a record 80,000 affiliations in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, surpassing the 70,000 registrations barrier for the first time in early 2023.
Broken down by municipality, Arrecife has 34,185 affiliations; San Bartolomé, 9,645; Teguise, 11,105; Tías, 9,625; Yaiza, 9,575; Tinajo, 3,440; and Haría, 2,425.
