This commitment seeks to facilitate job placement in HiperDino's establishments located in the region. The initiative followed a meeting between the deputy mayor of Gáldar, Julio Mateo Castillo, the Councilor for Employment, Tine Martín, and company representatives, including the Director of Legal Advisory and Institutional Relations, Margarita Cejas, and the Head of Talent, Alberto Sosa.
HiperDino operates six supermarkets in northern Gran Canaria: two in Gáldar (HiperDino Gáldar and SuperDino Noroeste), three in Arucas (HiperDino Arucas II, SuperDino Cardones, and SuperDino El Mirón), and one in Santa María de Guía (SuperDino Guía). These stores employ over 350 workers, with HiperDino Gáldar and HiperDino Arucas II being the largest, each with around 90 employees.
Julio Mateo Castillo highlighted the agreement's significance, calling it "a clear example of the supermarket chain's strong commitment to our municipality and our council, by placing its trust in our management to boost employment in the Northern Region." He emphasized that the City Council, through its Employment department, is equipped to work with unemployed individuals and enhance their employability.
For her part, Margarita Cejas thanked the "proactivity of the City Council and its mayor" and stated that HiperDino aims to "bet on local job creation, prioritizing residents of the island's northern region." She noted that the Gáldar City Council's Employment department possesses "the ideal tools and resources" for this strategy, allowing the company to "repay the gratitude to the residents of the municipality for supporting our chain of stores."
Through this agreement, the Gáldar City Council strengthens its efforts to provide employment opportunities to citizens and foster collaboration with local businesses, thereby contributing to job creation for the region's residents.
