The island of Fuerteventura recorded an economic movement of approximately 1.578.5 million euros in the first half of 2026. Of this amount, over 667.2 million euros corresponded to the second quarter, while the estimate for the January-March period was nearly 911.3 million euros.
This economic balance is similar to that registered in the first months of 2025, when 1.581 million euros were reached, breaking the trend of constant growth in previous years. In comparison, the first half of 2024 generated 1.395 million euros, and the figures for 2023 and 2022 were 1.238 million euros and 962 million euros, respectively.
The German market remains the main tourism reference in Fuerteventura, exceeding 530.5 million euros in the first half of the year. However, this figure is lower than that registered at the beginning of 2025, indicating a slight percentage drop.
The British market is gaining weight, contributing 486 million euros and solidifying its approach to German leadership in 2026. The national market, on the other hand, remains at a distance with a balance of 68.4 million euros.
Other tourist markets complement the economic activity, totaling around 662.2 million euros. Travelers from Scandinavia mobilized approximately 45.7 million euros, while tourists from the Netherlands generated 62.1 million euros. Other nationalities, including travelers from France, Ireland, Italy, and Central European countries, contributed 385.8 million euros.
It is expected that the year 2026 may close with an economic count similar to that of 2025, which exceeded 3.320 million euros, depending on tourism performance in the second half.
