The program, developed by the Department of New Technologies, aims to equip participants with practical digitalization skills. These skills will subsequently be applied in real businesses across Fuerteventura, covering the island's northern, central, and southern regions.
Carmen Alonso, the Minister of New Technologies, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Cabildo's goal of making Fuerteventura an island of opportunities, focusing on high-demand sectors like innovation and new technologies. The program also supports the digitalization of SMEs to boost their competitiveness.
The initiative involves collaboration with local municipalities and the participation of Fuerteventura's SMEs. The project is funded by the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canary Agency for Research, Innovation, and Information Society (ACIISI).
Josema Cabello, the program coordinator, explained that the training takes place in venues located in Puerto del Rosario, Tuineje, and La Oliva, thanks to municipal cooperation. The network of digital facilitators will disseminate their acquired knowledge throughout all municipalities.
Businesses seeking support can access the application form via the website semillainnova.com. They will receive a digital diagnosis, needs identification, and an individualized plan to advance their digitalization efforts.
