Passengers on Fred. Olsen Express can now enjoy a culinary experience that highlights the richness of Canarian gastronomy. The offerings range from special sandwiches, such as those made with Teror chorizo and smoked cheese, to fresh pastries from local bakeries, local yogurts, gofio, zero-kilometer fruit, and beverages produced in the islands, connecting passengers with the archipelago's identity from the first bite.
This initiative comes after the signing of collaboration agreements with the Canarian Industrial Association (ASINCA) and Rural Environment Management (GMR). The main objective is to support the Canarian primary sector and give visibility to its products among the nearly 4 million passengers who travel with the company annually, reaffirming the shipping company's commitment to promoting local goods.
“"Our customers choose us because we offer more than just a sea voyage. Our journeys are also an opportunity to enjoy and get to know the archipelago better before reaching the destination."
Products bearing the 'Made in Canarias' seal have been fully integrated into the onboard gastronomic offer, transforming each journey into a showcase of the quality, variety, and innovation of local production. Featured items include snack combos, island brand beverages, artisanal pastries, and sandwiches with recipes that change monthly, made with indigenous ingredients. This commitment to promoting local consumption also extends to the onboard shops, which offer a selection of items from local producers and designers.
With this strategy, Fred. Olsen Express aims for each voyage to be more than just a trip, becoming an experience that connects travelers with Canarian roots. The initiative celebrates cultural richness, fresh flavors, and the familiarity of homemade goods, while also highlighting the work of those who cultivate, produce, and distribute the products of the islands.
