A total of 16 companies from the audiovisual sector in Argentina will visit Gran Canaria and Tenerife for a week on a trade mission to strengthen ties and strategic projects.

Following recent trade missions conducted in Buenos Aires by key players in the archipelago's sector, interest has emerged from 16 companies to closely examine the Canary Islands' audiovisual ecosystem. This visit represents an opportunity for the Canarian audiovisual industry.
Last June, a Canarian delegation led by the Vice-Minister of the Presidency and President of Proexca, Alfonso Cabello, held institutional and business meetings in Buenos Aires to showcase the Canary Islands' potential in technological and audiovisual sectors. Months earlier, in December 2025, Proexca participated in the audiovisual event Ventana Sur, highlighting the advantages of investing in the Canary Islands.
These encounters sparked the interest of these 16 top companies in Argentina's audiovisual industry to visit the Canary Islands and explore its growing ecosystem. These companies, primarily in live-action, are coming with projects in mind to develop on the islands.
The mission's agenda has been prepared by entities such as Proexca, the Canary Institute of Cultural Development – ICDC, the Gran Canaria Film Commission, Tenerife Film Commission, the Canary Special Zone – ZEC, and the Canary Audiovisual Cluster.
For Proexca's CEO, Pablo Martín Carbajal, this signifies the fruition of years of work carried out by Canarian institutions and companies. "It is a satisfaction to see the results of our actions generating real interest in companies. The Canary Islands' audiovisual ecosystem is a hub of opportunities; we are the strategic Atlantic hub for these companies to continue growing," he stated.
The Argentine delegation began their institutional meetings this Monday in Gran Canaria, including visits to studios and sets managed by the Gran Canaria Economic Promotion Society (SPEGC). The Tenerife Film Commission will also host the delegation in Tenerife, where they will visit studios and meet with the Argentine Consul Ambassador to the Canary Islands, Luis María Sobrón.
Finally, a networking event will be held with interested Canarian sector companies to present their services and projects, connect with their Argentine counterparts, and visit strategic points and locations across the islands.
