The Government of the Canary Islands has relaunched the Archipelago Consumption Voucher program, injecting 3 million euros to revitalize local commerce across all islands, enabling citizens to acquire 50-euro vouchers for half their value.
The initiative, presented by the Vice President and Minister of Economy, Industry, Commerce, and Self-Employed, Manuel Domínguez, aims to encourage spending in local businesses. Of the total investment, 2,448,000 euros will be directly allocated to voucher issuance, with the remainder covering operational and management costs of the program.
This amount will result in an economic injection of nearly 4.9 million euros into the archipelago's commercial fabric, combining contributions from the Government of the Canary Islands and direct consumer investment. The previous edition saw an investment of 2.5 million euros, highlighting the growth and consolidation of this commercial revitalization tool.
The web platform for business registration and voucher purchase, www.bonoconsumoarchipielago.com, has been operational for businesses since April 15. Vouchers will be available for purchase by users starting April 28, and the campaign will run for two months.
Each voucher will have a face value of 50 euros, of which the consumer will contribute 25 euros, and the other half will be financed by the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption of the Government of the Canary Islands, in collaboration with the four Chambers of Commerce of the Canary Islands. A total of 97,918 vouchers have been distributed among all islands. Adult users can acquire a maximum of four vouchers per island, allowing them to spend up to 200 euros with a 100-euro investment.
The vouchers are nominative, non-transferable, non-refundable, and can only be used for in-person purchases at participating establishments on the island where they were acquired. They are compatible with discounts and promotions. Participating businesses, including sectors such as electronics, fashion, sports, and toy stores, will have a redemption limit of 5,000 euros, which can be extended depending on the program's evolution.
