Canary Islands Win 57 Medals at CINVE International Competition for Wines and Products

The Islands' participation in the prestigious international contest saw a 39% increase in awards.

Productions from the Canary Islands have been recognized with a total of 57 medals at the 22nd edition of the CINVE International Competition, an achievement that underscores the quality and visibility of their wines and agri-food products.

This award tally represents a 39% increase compared to the previous edition, solidifying the presence of island products on the international stage. Among the accolades, 52 were for wine elaborations, complemented by awards for a vermouth, two spirits, a cider, and an olive oil.

The competition featured nearly 1,000 samples from various countries such as Argentina, Germany, Mexico, France, and Greece. The Canary Islands secured 21 Grand Gold, 29 Gold, and 7 Silver medals, an added merit given the unique characteristics of the island territory, highlighting the excellent work of primary sector producers.
The still white wine category was particularly successful for island brands, which earned nine Grand Gold medals. Award-winning wines include Alejandro Gallo Doble Malvasía 2024, Brumas de Ayosa Blanco Seco 2025, Flor de Chasna Blanco 2025, Testamento Malvasía Aromática Dry 2025, Manto Diego tres Meses en Barrica 2023, Mencey Chasna Blanco Seco Añada 2025, Pagos de Reverón Blanco Seco Ecológico 2025, Papaíno Malvasía Volcánica 2025, and Princesa Gara 2022.
For still red wines, the Islands achieved five Grand Gold medals, including Alejandro Gallo Syrah 2023, Alejandro Gallo Vijariego Negro y Tintilla 2023, Brumas de Ayosa Tinto Joven 2025, Luz de Obsidiana 2024, and Mencey Chasna Tinto Maceración Carbónica 2025. The Mencey Chasna Rosado Seco 2025 also won a Grand Gold in its category. Sparkling and sweet wines were also recognized with Grand Gold medals, notably Brumas de Ayosa 100% Malvasía Aromática 2023, Papaíno Brut Nature 2024, Princesa Fayna 2019, Alejandro Gallo Moscatel de Alejandría 2024, and Pagos de Reverón Blanco Naturalmente Dulce 2024. The Alejandro Gallo Vermut Rojo Premium 2022 was the sole Grand Gold winner in the vermouth category.
The awards ceremony for this edition, which saw the highest international participation to date, is scheduled for May 21 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid, where the Gran CINVE awards for the highest-scoring products in each category will also be announced.
