This new campaign, presented by the Vice President and Minister of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed, Manuel Domínguez, increases its allocation compared to the previous edition and is consolidated as a fundamental tool for supporting the Canarian commercial fabric. Of the total investment, 2,448,000 euros will be directly allocated to the issuance of vouchers, which is expected to generate an economic impact close to 4.9 million euros in participating establishments.
The website www.bonoconsumoarchipielago.com will be available for businesses to join the program from Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 AM. Voucher sales will begin on April 28 and the campaign will run for two months, with a total of 97,918 vouchers put into circulation. Each voucher will have a value of 50 euros, of which the user will pay 25 euros, with the remainder financed by the Government of the Canary Islands through the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption, in collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce.
“"This second edition reinforces the Government's commitment to local commerce and self-employed individuals, highlighting that it is a key sector for the economy and employment in the islands."
Self-employed individuals, micro-enterprises, and small businesses with establishments open to the public in the Canary Islands that meet the requirements can participate. Large stores, distribution chains, public administrations, and non-profit organizations are excluded. Vouchers can only be used in establishments on the same island where they were purchased, thus promoting local consumption.
Users must be of legal age and can acquire a maximum of four vouchers per island, representing an investment of 100 euros that translates into a total expenditure of up to 200 euros in purchases. Vouchers are nominative, non-refundable, and only valid for in-person purchases, although they are compatible with other promotions. Distribution has been based on the population of each island: Tenerife (35,988), Gran Canaria (35,456), Lanzarote (8,195), Fuerteventura (6,629), La Palma (5,245), La Gomera (3,453), and El Hierro (2,952).
Each participating establishment will have an initial limit of 5,000 euros in voucher redemption, which can be extended depending on the program's evolution. Businesses must manage voucher validation through the digital platform and will receive the corresponding payment within a maximum of 15 days from justification. Sectors such as electronics, IT, telephony, fashion, sports, DIY, and toy stores, among others, can benefit from this initiative.
